4月1日より、何かを30日間だけチャレンジすることに決めました。

今月は、スカイプを活用し、1日25分間英語を話しています。
レアジョブというサイトでフィリピン大学の学生を先生に話しています。

ただ、漫然と話しても英語力をつけるのは難しいと思います。
そこで、目的をはっきり決めました。

自己紹介を１０パターンつくることです。

たとえば、
・大学時代の留学、
・イギリスの大学院と、ロンドンの話、
・起業した理由、
・現在の仕事、
・今後行いたい事業

などについて、各項目を、あらかじめA4用紙で1枚くらいずつの文章で用意しておきます。

先方には、時間中にそれを見てもらい、より自然な言い回しなどへと直してもらいます。

現在、4日目まで終わった段階で、3人の先生とスカイプで話したのですが、
先生によって、得意なことにばらつきがあります。
とても話好きな人もいれば、こちらで用意した文章をよりわかりやすく書き換えるのが得意な人もいます。

毎日1人ずつとなりますが、まずは10人くらいの先生と話してみて、
より合う先生を3人くらいみつけて、
以後はその先生たちとセッションをしていけたらと思っています。

そして、直してもらった自己紹介は、暗唱できるくらいまで何度も読んで、
体得しようと思います。

本当は、レアジョブの先生に文章を朗読してもらったものを録音して、
それを電車の移動の時間などで聞きつつ、暗唱しようと思っていたのですが、
相手がフィリピン人ということもあり、フィリピンなまりの英語の先生が多く、
まだ朗読をお願いしたい先生にはあたっていません(^_^;

今後、発音の良い先生を見つけるというのが課題です。
また、事前に自己紹介の文章をつくることを自分に課しているので、
毎日話す25分以外にも、確実に英語と向き合っている時間が長くなってます。

本日は最後に、私の自己紹介の1つ目「大学時代編」（言い回しを直してもらったバージョン）を下記に書いてみたいと思います。

A Story of My University Time

When I was a freshman at the university,
I didn’t have any clue what I should do after my graduation.
I was burnt out because of the examination for entering the university.
I had no dream at that time.

But I had curiosity towards foreign countries, such as the US and China.
One day, I found a poster on a notice board at the university.
The poster said that the university will give the students a chance to go to Beijing University to study Chinese and its culture for a month.

When I saw this poster I realized what I had wanted to do.
I applied for that and I had a chance to go to Beijing.

The experience of Beijing was fascinating to me.
It was full of fantastic moments.
I had a lot of Chinese and Japanese friends.
I also have visited many historical places like Emperor’s palace and ten’an men square.

But being filled with curiosity, I could not be satisfied with only one country.
Next year, I visited Washington D.C in the United States.
I compared China with the US, both of these countries are great.

At that time, it was late 1990s, China has been emerging.
It was very fun to stay there to see buildings being constructed and people who were very energetic.

At the last minute of my second year at the university,
I already had 116 credits out of 124.
All I had to do was to take remaining 8 credits in the following two years.

I felt that I was bored and that I needed to do something else.
That is why I decided to go abroad again.

This time I visited Shanghai, China for half a year to study Chinese.
I had a great experience in China.

The first 4 and half months, I studied Chinese, and then, I traveled to Chinese cities for one and a half months. The journey was incredible. It started in Shanghai, where I studied. I went to Xi-an, Xi-ning, Ge-r-mu, la-xa, Chang-du and then came back to Shanghai.

I met nice people and went to great places like Potara palace in la-sa.
I enjoyed even though I got a car accident in Xi-an and I caught colds three times during the journey:)
I felt a huge cultural difference in this trip.

Thank you for China, I got a job in Mori building company which was one of the most famous real estate companies in Japan after my graduation.

30日間のチャレンジ、4月30日まで無事に走り抜けたいと思います。
